Substance Abuse:  ASAIS / Mental Retardation:  MRSIS
Introduction to Harmony Information Systems, Inc. and HealthCare Perspective LLC
(a shared page of Divisions of Substance Abuse and Mental Retardation)

The Substance Abuse and the Mental Retardation Service Divisions have begun to revise their business practices. This decision was made in an effort to both improve the quality and efficiency of their respective service delivery systems and to meet the goals set for their respective systems by the federal government. The revisions of the business practices required the divisions to substantially improve their data management systems.

The Substance Abuse Division was the first to begin implementation of the new service delivery system. They were assisted in this effort with the help of a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Through the use of the RFP process and an intensive review, the Substance Abuse Division selected Harmon IS Inc. to provide and configure an off-the-shelf comprehensive data management system to meet its needs. The Mental Retardation Division took part in the review process with the intent of using the same data management system as the Substance Abuse Division but chose a different configuration.

Harmony is a web-based information system. It is designed to efficiently manage the business flow of human service agencies such as ours. It provides substantial built-in electronic medical record components for case management, outcomes management, financial management, and provider network management resulting in streamlined processes, increased communication, and improved access to information.

Harmony is a select member of the Information Technology Association of America’s (ITAA) Human Services Information Technology Advisory Group (HSITAG). Harmony is also a member of the Leadership Circle of the Child Welfare League of America’s (CWLA) Systems Integration Management Institute. In addition, Harmony is both a Microsoft and Oracle Certified Partner.

Harmony was founded to fulfill two primary needs lacking in the industry. First, for flexible PC-based software that works well with everyday office software. Second, for customer-focused, knowledgeable support provided by a friendly and responsive company that keenly understands the industry it serves.
